The European Commission has amended the Digital Europe Work Programme 2025-2027 to align with evolving digital priorities and strengthen the deployment of innovative digital capacities across the EU.

The update introduces new initiatives, including digital infrastructure for schools and an online safety application to support the EU Action Plan against cyberbullying. It also launches a call for Safer Internet Centres to ensure broader coverage across EU and Associated countries, and a work strand to boost collaboration among multi-country European Digital Infrastructure Consortia.

Other measures focus on the rollout of Testing and Experimentation Facilities for AI, the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format, and digital health services. The amendment also aligns the Situational Awareness and Operational Centre (SAOC) topic with the European Democracy Shield.

This amendment follows the first DIGITAL update in October 2025, which reinforced the Commission’s commitment to developing and deploying critical technologies in Europe.
