The European Commission will host the “Apply AI sectoral deep dive – electronic communications” webinar on 30 April 2026, focusing on how artificial intelligence can accelerate innovation and deployment of AI-driven solutions across the EU’s telecom sector.

The event will explore how high-performance networks underpin productivity, innovation, and sustainable growth, and how AI is already being used by major telecommunications companies to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs. It will also highlight future opportunities such as real-time network optimisation, predictive maintenance, personalised customer services, enhanced network security, and improved quality of service management.

The session, part of the “Apply AI” webinar series, will also examine real-world use cases from SMEs and end-users leveraging trustworthy edge AI technologies, alongside discussions on specialised AI models and dedicated datasets aimed at strengthening Europe’s digital infrastructure.
