The Ministry of Health has allocated nearly 155 million lei to complete the new Zerlendi Tuberculosis Diagnosis and Treatment Center at the “Marius Nasta” National Institute of Pneumology. In just three weeks, all necessary legal and administrative procedures were completed: updating the technical and economic indicators, securing additional funds, and approving an increase in the national contribution to fully cover the project’s costs.
Construction has resumed, and the goal is to complete the project by the end of August. Acting Minister of Health Cseke Attila stated that all risks regarding the project’s implementation have been eliminated.
The new center, considered a major investment for the treatment of lung diseases in Romania, will have 115 beds, three modern operating rooms, advanced laboratories, facilities for research and medical education, as well as an integrated digital system. The project is funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, with additional support from the state budget.
