New contact form targets greater consistency
The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has launched a dedicated contact form allowing stakeholders to report potential inconsistencies in the interpretation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) across Europe.
The initiative follows the commitments outlined in the EDPB’s Helsinki Statement on enhanced clarity, support and engagement, which aims to strengthen dialogue with stakeholders and promote consistent GDPR enforcement.
Reports to inform future action
The new tool allows stakeholders to flag alleged differences between national data protection authorities’ positions, as well as divergences between national interpretations and EDPB guidance.
While the EDPB will not respond to individual submissions, the information collected will be reviewed regularly by Board members to identify possible measures for improving consistency in the application of the GDPR.
