The interim Minister of Health, Cseke Attila, has called for work on hospitals built under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) to be accelerated and for acceptance procedures to begin before the August 31, 2026, deadline, wherever possible, to ensure the projects are completed on time. Seven of the eight hospitals are between 91% and 100% complete, while the Constanța County Emergency Hospital—Mother and Child is 69% complete and will be finished through the Health Operational Program. The minister noted that the Ministry of Health has fulfilled all its financial and administrative obligations and has asked contractors and local authorities to speed up the pace of construction so that the new hospitals can become operational as soon as possible.
