The Ministry of Health has requested public health departments to take urgent measures to protect the population in flood-affected areas, in collaboration with local authorities and emergency inspectorates. They will monitor epidemiological risks and water quality, ensure the disinfection of wells, access to medical services, medicines and vaccines, as well as support for vulnerable people.

Acting Minister of Health, Cseke Attila, stressed that prevention and rapid intervention are essential to avoid illness.

The population is advised to consume only safe water (bottled or boiled), avoid water from wells not confirmed as potable, follow hygiene rules, consume properly prepared food, and seek medical attention if symptoms of illness appear. The Ministry is constantly monitoring the situation and is ready to intervene where necessary.
