The Ministry of Health has asked public health departments to monitor the activity of health units and to immediately report any incident that could affect the continuity of medical services in the context of union protests.

The institution states that it respects the right to union action and supports social dialogue as the main way to resolve claims. In this regard, it proposed measures for the new wage law, including: increasing the payment of guards on weekends and holidays, introducing performance-based pay, reviewing bonuses for dangerous conditions, rebalancing wage coefficients, and transitional rules for applying wage increases.

The Ministry has also initiated a memorandum to unlock over 7,000 positions in the public health system, in order to reduce the staff shortage. The Ministry announces that it will continue the dialogue with the unions, with the priority being to maintain the continuity of healthcare and patients’ access to medical services.
