The European Commission has opened a call for evidence to assess whether the Digital Decade objectives for 2030 remain fit for purpose, reflecting the rapid changes in technology since their adoption in 2022. The review, planned for 2026, will evaluate how to accelerate Europe’s digital transformation, simplify legislation, and better align policy with funding opportunities under the next Multiannual Financial Framework.
At this midway point, the programme, backed by over EUR 288 billion in funding and more than 1,900 national measures, aims to ensure that digitalisation benefits all regions, cities, citizens, and SMEs. Stakeholders can submit their input until 23 December 2025, while an online workshop on 26 November will focus on boosting local and regional digital initiatives and addressing territorial disparities.
