The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has adopted its work programme for 2026–2027, focusing on easing GDPR compliance, reinforcing enforcement consistency, and engaging across Europe’s evolving digital landscape.

Built on the four pillars of the EDPB strategy, the programme aims to provide clear guidance on key issues including consent, anonymisation, pseudonymisation, children’s data, and emerging technologies such as generative AI. It also promotes cross-regulatory cooperation with Data Protection Authorities and engagement with EU and international bodies, including the Digital Markets Act High Level Group and the European Data Innovation Board.

EDPB Chair Anu Talus said the Board will continue strengthening consistency and cooperation across Member States while supporting a human-centric approach to new technologies and safeguarding personal data globally.
