The European Commission will hold an online workshop on 26 January 2026 to gather feedback on the guidelines for selected definitions in the Data Act. The event aims to engage a wide range of stakeholders to help shape the implementation of the regulation.
The Data Act is designed to support European industries in unlocking the full potential of data sharing, fostering growth, innovation, and competitiveness. The forthcoming guidance on selected definitions will play a key role in helping businesses and consumers comply with the regulation and fully benefit from its opportunities.
The workshop will take place from 14:00 to 17:00 Brussels time and is open to Member State authorities, companies, legal professionals, academics, and organizations. Participants are invited to register using a professional email address; upon registration, they will receive the link to join the online session. Registrations close on 22 January 2026.
Background:
As part of its Data Union Strategy, the Commission plans to publish the guidance on selected definitions in the Data Act in the first quarter of 2026. This guidance will complement previously released materials, providing further clarity to facilitate compliance with the regulation.
