The European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) has signed three grant agreements under the Digital Europe Programme’s Advanced Digital Skills call, allocating a total of €25.4 million to strengthen Europe’s capabilities in emerging technologies.

The funding supports three flagship projects. The AI Skills Academy (AISHA), receiving €6.94 million, will develop accredited education and training programmes focused on artificial intelligence and generative AI skills, aiming to support responsible AI adoption across both public and private sectors while promoting inclusion and digital sovereignty.

The Quantum Skills Digital Academy (EQA), awarded €9.9 million, will build a Europe-wide education and training ecosystem for quantum technologies, integrating higher education, workforce development and outreach activities to strengthen the EU’s technological competitiveness and sovereignty.

The Virtual Worlds Skills Academy (ViWAS), funded with €8.54 million, will focus on virtual reality, augmented reality and extended reality skills, creating a training ecosystem to support innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration between education providers, industry and policymakers.

The initiatives fall under the Digital Europe Programme, which aims to enhance Europe’s digital capacity and deployment of key technologies, including AI, cybersecurity, high-performance computing and semiconductors.
