The European Blockchain Sandbox has published its third cohort best practices report , highlighting lessons learned, regulatory insights, and recommendations from dialogues held in the second half of 2025. The report was launched during a public webinar on 11 February 2026, where the Sandbox team presented key findings and answered questions from participants.

During the webinar, the Most Innovative Regulator Award was announced, recognizing regulators for exceptional contributions to the third cohort dialogues. Awardees include:

• BfDI (Germany)

• CNMV (Spain)

• Bank of Spain

• KNB (Netherlands)

• Office for Digital Innovation (Liechtenstein)

• ANSSI (France)

• ARCEP (France)

The third cohort engaged 60 use cases, offering insights not only for blockchain/DLT but also for other emerging technologies. The report underscores the value of regulatory sandboxes in fostering innovation, building regulatory capacity, and improving legal certainty in digital domains.

The Sandbox continues to strengthen collaboration between use cases, national authorities, and EU regulators, supporting innovation and the development of a harmonized regulatory ecosystem.
