On 4 February 2026, the European Board for Digital Services (the Board) held its 17th meeting in Brussels, marking its second anniversary. The Board reviewed past achievements—including reports on systemic risks, the Election Toolkit, Codes of Conduct on hate speech and disinformation, and cooperation on data access assessments—and outlined priorities for the coming months.

The Board emphasized efforts to boost online safety, particularly for minors, combat illegal products and content, and enhance trust in online information. It also highlighted the need for a coordinated approach to AI risks, noting that AI can benefit society when used responsibly, but illegal or harmful AI-enabled content, such as child sexual abuse material or non-consensual intimate images, is unacceptable. The Board welcomed the Commission’s investigation into Grok and pledged support for enforcement actions.
