The European Commission’s AI Office has opened a call for experts to participate in an Expert Forum on Frontier AI, part of the European Frontier AI Initiative. The forum aims to bring together senior European AI developers, investors, industrial actors, and other frontier AI experts to discuss challenges, opportunities, and ways to enhance Europe’s competitiveness, sovereignty, and security in frontier AI.

The first online meeting is scheduled for 23 April 2026. Interested participants can apply and submit written statements outlining recommendations on achieving the initiative’s goals until 12 March. Discussions will follow the Chatham House Rule, with key insights published afterward.

The forum supports strategic actions already launched under the initiative, including the Grand Challenge for large-scale European AI models, the “Science for AI” pilot under RAISE, and investment in AI computing infrastructure.
