The Ministry of Health announced that it is coordinating the medical response following a large-scale operation in Bihor County, launched in the context of a DIICOT investigation into suspected human trafficking and the activities of an organised criminal group allegedly exploiting hundreds of vulnerable individuals under the guise of providing social care. The ministry stated that 411 people were medically and logistically assessed, with emergency medical care, psychological support and safe transport provided as required. Following medical triage, 18 people remained hospitalized, 5 were taken into the care of the Bihor Directorate General for Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC), and 388 were relocated to healthcare and social care facilities across the country. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to protecting patients’ rights and ensuring that all victims receive appropriate medical care and social support in coordination with the relevant authorities.
