The European Commission and the OECD have launched the State of Cardiovascular Health in the European Union Dashboard, an online tool designed to help policymakers, researchers, and the public monitor cardiovascular health across the EU. The dashboard supports the newly introduced EU Safe Hearts Plan, the first EU-wide strategy to combat cardiovascular disease, presented in December 2025.
The Safe Hearts Plan focuses on prevention, early detection, treatment, and care, with particular attention to vulnerable groups such as children, young people, and women.
Developed by the OECD and funded through the EU4Health Programme, the dashboard analyzes disease trends, risk factors, healthcare quality, and national policies across EU Member States, Iceland, and Norway, using data from OECD, Eurostat, WHO, and other sources.
