The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control published a report that focuses on monitoring the progress toward eliminating cervical cancer in Europe, in line with policy frameworks such as Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan (2021) and the WHO regional roadmap. These initiatives set the 90–70–90 targets for 2030: high HPV vaccination coverage, increased screening, and effective treatment.
It evaluates the performance of HPV vaccination programmes across the EU/EEA, supported by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), which also developed a dashboard to track vaccination coverage and Member State progress. The report highlights existing gaps, draws on international data sources, and provides evidence-based recommendations to strengthen national programmes.
